The Future

Do you ever see a beautiful dress like one of these and love it, but find it to be an impractical part of your wardrobe? I do. I would wear it only once and have it sit there. Too beautiful to donate or wear. What if it  became a simple and elegant two pc? This is my next DIY that you will be seeing on MONDAY! I am going to get started tonight. Here is my inspiration :

It looks like all you need to do is cut a shirt down the middle, sort of an upside down triangle shape. Cut the back to whatever shape you want ( can have fun with it too-la-la) and then sew some matching fabric around the stomach area. pair with a perfectly coordinated maxi for an elegant look like this, or some cool metal jewelry, a leather jacket, and a mis-matched maxi for a rougher look. Wear with pants, skirts, whatever. This would be a daring piece in my closet. Needless to say I would love to wear it.  So expect that next week. I am excited. Are you?

I am thinking that this may even be a two-three part DIY with a bit of instruction on how to do cut out like these other Marc Bouwer Dresses( first two photos) and this random one that I found on some website. (when I locate the page I can link it ).
